Company Profile
Causeway Asset Management was originally founded in 2004 by Michael Davis and Tim Martin, after each of the principals spent more than 20 years working in senior banking and management roles in debt capital markets and asset management for global firms including Merrill Lynch, Deustche Bank and Schroders. Causeway Asset Management holds a Responsible Entity license from the Australian Securities and Investment Commission.
The Causeway team currently comprises 7 full time investment professionals with strong backgrounds in global banking, capital markets, credit analysis, credit operations and fund administration/accounting. The depth of experience of the Causeway team spans numerous economic, banking and capital markets cycles dating back to the early 1980’s.
Causeway prides itself on the capacity of the current team to research and assess the various risk implications of investing in private and unlisted asset markets, including its hands on restructuring and recovery experience focusing on preservation of investor capital. The key members of the origination and research teams have worked together at Causeway since 2004 and previously for more than 15 years in prior roles.
Causeway is an Alternative asset manager focused on achieving absolute investment returns from sustainable/long term core investment opportunities. These opportunities include lending to SME enterprises which make up the largest employer sector (>65%) in Australia and investing in Australian water entitlements as part of the long term shift in value through the supply-demand imbalance in that market.
